Dolce Vita officially opening in Schenectady

Grand piano dance floor looking toward bar.
SCHENECTADY -- Randy Loren's Dolce Vita Ristorante, which has been put together in fits and starts, finally will have its "official" grand opening.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. Tueday (September 25), and the first 50 paying customers will receive, as Loren enthusiastically writes on his Facebook page, "a FREE Chicken Parm Dinner Each Month for ONE YEAR!!"

Loren, a veteran restaurateur and performer, will be offering all sorts of live music and events to go with an Amer-Italian menu in an establishment he describes as being created "to provide an atmosphere where one can receive joy and fulfillment. That is the definition of dolce vita -- the sweet life.  I want people to feel comfortable, as if they were guests in my own home."

The decor certainly speaks to music, what with a piano keyboard bar rail and a dance floor shaped like the top of a grand piano.

Dolce Vita Ristorante is located at 1727 State Street. Phone: 357-3324.
