Gold rush continues for Dr. Frank wines

Dr. Konstantin Frank's Vinifera Wine Cellars, which those of you who read my most recent report on its golden anniversary year know is raking in gold medals all over, has done it again.

The latest accolade for the Finger Lakes winery is "Best American Riesling – U.S. Embassy Perpetual Trophy," a 94-point rating, and a Gold medal for its Bunch Select Late Harvest Riesling at the prestigious Canberra International Riesling Challenge 2012 in Australia.

It is priced at $69.99 a bottle.

Dr. Frank also won Silver medals at 90 points for its Dry Riesling and 50th Anniversary Riesling Reserve in the same event.

The winery won more awards in domestic and international competition in 2011 than any other, and appears on track to top its record this year. For a list of current honors, go here.
