Brooklyn sommelier joins Yono's Red Cross fundraiser

ALBANY -- A second guest sommelier has been added to the lineup for Monday night's fundraiser for the American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Relief.

Dominick Purnomo, co-owner/sommelier of the host Yono's and DP: An American Brasserie, has enlisted Javier Rodriguez, maitre d' of the renowned The River Café in Brooklyn, which was badly damaged by Hurricane Sandy and is closed for cleanup and repairs.

Rodriguez was the winner of this year's Concierge Choice Awards honor among New York City maitre d's.

Seaborn Jones of Angelo's 677 Prime had previously been announced as a guest sommelier.

The event is a five-course tasting and wine pairing, with a champagne toast, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Admission is $100, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross storm fund.
