Psst: Bonefish Grill projects an August debut in Colonie

COLONIE -- in this era of widespread information dissemination, it's easy to forget where you read something or whether it was a solid report, speculation or a half-assed rumor.

That was made apparent to me when I saw a Twitter posting asking the folks at the Bonefish Grill restaurant chain the question: "are you guys coming to Albany NY? I heard a rumor just wondering if there was any truth to it"

(Gotta love what electronic communication has done to screw up grammar, punctuation, etc.)

Well, Sparky, it's no rumor. The chain has been working with the Town of Colonie to create an acceptable conversion plan for the former Borders bookstore on Wolf Road. No rumor, just reality -- and something I've reported on, as has The Business Journal, the Times Union, and perhaps other legitimate entities.

One nugget of new info can be gleaned from the Bonefish HQ response to the inquiry: a projected opening in "late August 2013." Our thanks to the original inquirer, brian56809387, for eliciting that nugget of info, however inadvertently.
