Taco Bell debuts 'loaded grillers' appetizers

The new appetizer offerings.
Taco Bell, which has been coming up with a steady stream of new marketing ideas, shows no signs of slackening the pace. This week, the chain debuted a "Loaded Grillers" snack line.

The appetizer-sized item is a limited-time-offer (LTO) at a suggested price of 99 cents.

The new items are designed to build on Taco Bell’s "savory snack" options, especially for the 2 to 5 p.m. period. Taco Bell says the move will be leading to a "Happier Hour" campaign it will launch next year with a focus on sweet and savory snacks.

Earlier this year, Taco Bell expanded its dessert menu, adding sweet snacks such as a churro and a new vanilla-cream-filled cookie sandwich.

The new line of snacks -- each wrapped in a flour tortilla and grilled:

  • Loaded Potato Griller: Fried potatoes, nacho cheese sauce, bacon bits, reduced-fat sour cream, crisp red tortilla strips.
  • Beefy Nacho Loaded Griller: Seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, crispy red strips.
  • Loaded Buffalo Chicken Griller: Marinated grilled chicken, spicy sauce, reduced-fat sour cream.
