Appletini's becoming Tex-Mex/BBQ venue

COLONIE -- You wouldnt know it by its website -- which advertises business as usual -- or its Facebook page -- which features cleavage shots and not much else -- but Appletini's is closed.

The 1118 Central Avenue restaurant and nightspot is being reworked by Andy Kung, who purchased it last June, to be re-opened as a Tex-Mex/BBQ spot called the Albany Rail Yard.

That's according to a blog post today by the TU's Steve Barnes, who says Kung tells him a new 35-foot bar and a stage for live music are being installed.

Kung is a partner with Mike Ryan in Center Square Pub in Albany but has run Appletini’s since August.

A mid-February opening is projected.
