Hillsdale cooking class one for the books (or movies)

HILLSDALE -- The 2003 Diane Ladd movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" was a feast for the senses. Great cinematography, wonderful rural locales, scrumptious looking food.

It's the latter that is the subject of an upcoming cooking class at The Kitchen Table Cooking School in this Columbia County town.

"Recipes from 'Under the Tuscan Sun'," set for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. this Sunday, will help participants prepare a meal from that region of Italy, based on foods from the movie and its source book, a 1996 memoir by Frances Mayes:

• Homemade lasagne noodles with wild mushrooms
• Pork tenderloin with fennel and honey
• Red wine-poached pears

Registration is $45 per person, and may be made by calling (914) 261-1316 or by going online. The Kitchen Table Cooking School is located at 214 Dawson Road.
