Jose Malone's, now open Sundays, unveils new menu

TROY -- The Mexican/Irish/folk music emporium Jose Malone's now is open on Sundays and has added some menu items, some with ethnic touches but all easily placed in the "fusion" category.

New entrees:
  • Skirt steak: Pan-seared and wrapped in caramelized leeks, spaghetti squash, white mushrooms, black garlic demi glace.
  • Striped bass: Roasted apple and goat cheese risotto, asparagus spears, grilled pineapple and lime butter sauce.
  • Teres major: Tender beef shoulder, roasted red skin potatoes, chef's vegetable, poblano and mango demi glace.
  • Grilled Norwegian Salmon: Wakame seaweed salad, marinated carrots and cucumbers, guava-honey-brown sugar glaze.
New appetizers:
  • Chicken chimichanga: Tangy tomatillo and potato puree, house-made mild salsa.
  • Ahi tuna: Five spices, baby bok choy and carrot salad, blood orange and jalapeƱo ponzu.
  • Scallops: Toasted almonds and brown butter, orange and lime avocado puree.
  • Seared jumbo shrimp: Warm cucumber, honeydew cider salsa.
New salads:
  • Mixed chard greens: Raisins, candied walnuts , goat cheese , balsamic and honey vinaigrette.
  • Baby spinach: Avocado, braised Granny Smith apples, feta, pineapple vinaigrette.
