Wine & Spirits of Slingerlands is putting together a free tasting of the New York wines and foods that will be featured at the lunch. (You can read all about the January 21 luncheon here.
Francine Lynch of Cuisine by Francine will be the chef for the event, set for 4 to 8 p.m/ Friday, January 18. Her, or Obama's, menu:
- Lobster appetizer, with Tierce 2009 Finger Lakes Dry Riesling.
- Grilled bison, with Bedell Cellars 2009 Merlot from Long Island.
- Hudson Valley apple pie with apples from Golden Harvest Orchard, Valatie, and cheeses -- including Toma Celena and Jersey Girl Colby -- from Cooperstown Cheese Co., with Korbel Natural Inaugural Cuvee from California.
