Taste restaurant up for sale online. Shhh!

In the main dining room at Taste.
ALBANY -- It began as Dale Miller. It morphed into Taste. Now the sign says "for sale."

That, in a nutshell, is what's going on at the glossy downtown restaurant that husband-wife owners James D. Linnan and Maura Gannon have put up for sale.

The listing is through Falvey Real Estate Group with an asking price of $450,000.

The operation has been in existence for less than four years, boasting a top-floor event space with an excellent city view, separate bar and patio, to-go lobby kiosk and a lush dining room.

The listing, which does not use the name of the restaurant but does use its 45 Beaver Street address, says:

"Confidentiality a must. Call Broker for more details. Offering four distinct profit centers including the Bar, Restaurant with large patio (Seating Capacity -- 52 restaurant, 40 bar, 125 patio), lobby kiosk, and the penthouse meeting and banquet facility (Seating capacity -- 400 including rooftop deck for 300) with amazing views of the Albany skyline. Each venue offers a turnkey service fully equipped. Leasehold improvements & equip valued at over $1M."

Interesting sidelight: Although the property is on full public view via the online listing, Linnan is quoted by the Times Union as saying he did not authorize it and has been trying to peddle the property for the past year through another realty company, TL Metzger & Associates.
