'Souped Up On Guilderland' to roll out on Saturday

GUILDERLAND -- Autumn traditionally is soup season, and it never hurts to toss a classic car event into any food mix. Thus, the 8th annual "Souped Up On Guilderland" event.

The festivities, sponsored by the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce, are set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday (October 4) at the YMCA Adventure Camp (formerly Camp Nassau) on Route 155.

Admission to the soup tasting is $5, while admission to the classic car show is free. Soups and stews will be provided by a variety of local food purveyors, although the list has not been unveiled. Attendees will vote on their favorites.

The public is invited to bring a car, truck or motorcycle to show off and to vie for awards. Registration for each vehicle is $10. The first 50 registered will get a swag bag, a soup ticket and a dashboard plaque. Gates open at 9 a.m. and close at noon for judging. Awards will be distributed at 2 p.m.
