Another B-rads is opening, this time in Albany

Brad Stevens
In just three years, Troy resident Bradford Stevens has gone from professional caterer to multi-venue restaurateur.

In the fall of 2012, he opened B-Rads Bistro & Catering, his first bricks-and-mortar venue, succeeding Uncle Ricky's Bagel Heaven at 1809 5th Avenue in Troy.

Now, he is about to open B-Rads Bistro Express in what had been Joey G's Cafe at 677 Broadway in Albany. When it opens on Monday, it will be a takeout-only spot, at least for the time being, offering a variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches and wraps, a salad bar, and soups. Initially it will be open from 7:39 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays.

Stevens comes from a cooking family, having worked in the family business through high school before enrolling in the four-year degree program at the prestigious Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.

He went on to cook in the Culinary Olympics as a junior, and during internships and after graduation he worked in various capacities at several locations, ranging from the Foxwoods casino resort to the Black Dog Tavern on Martha’s Vineyard’s where he became sous chef. He then took top positions at several other Vineyard locations before returning to the Capital Region.
