Dining in historic house for a cause

The Mansion
ALBANY -- The centuries-old Ten Broeck Mansion, headquarters of the Albany County Historical Association, will be the site of a capital fundraising dinner later this month.

A cocktail hour with champagne and hors d'oeuvres will be followed by dinner and an after-dinner sherry at the October 16 event. Price per person is $100, to benefit ongoing work on the mansion that was built in 1798.

Reservations are required, and may be obtained by calling 436-9826. Here's a look at the menu:

The Ten Broeck Mansion was built by Revolutionary War General Abraham Ten Broeck on a hill that then was on the outskirts of the city. Today, it is just a few blocks from the Palace Theater at 9 Ten Broeck Place. Parking is in the rear of the property.
