Price Chopper expanding its Italian imports portfolio

If you notice an increase in advertising for Italian food products at the Price Chopper markets, don't be surprised. The parent Golub Corporation has just entered into an agreement with the Italian Trade Commission.

The official announcement will be made tomorrow at the company's Market 32 in Clifton Park during a 1 p.m. ceremony. That is the name of what all Price Choppers will become over the next few years as Golub once again rebrands a company that began as the Albany Public Market chain.

The agreement will bring more authentic Italian products to all of the stores, and samples of some of the nearly 850 imported products will be available to attendees at the event.

CEO Jerry Golub, Italian Trade Commissioner Dr. Maurizio Forte, several other members of the trade commission, and representatives of the Capital Region Italian-American community are scheduled to attend.

Market 32 is located in the Shopper's World plaza at Route 146 and Plank Road.
