Today's ride on the foodie go-round (Vermont edition)

• The Burlington, VT, Chinese restaurant A Single Pebble has just been ranked among the "52 Best Restaurants for Vegetarians In America" by the online reservation service OpenTable. The service says the list is based on the combined opinions of more than 5 million restaurant reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 20,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. A Single Pebble was established in 1997 by chef Steve Bogart in Barre-Montpelier, who also opened a second venue in Burlington, then eventually closed the Barre original. In 2004, the restaurant was named “The Best Restaurant in Vermont” by Vermont Magazine. Biogart retired in 2009, and the restaurant now is owned by Chiuho Duval. The menu for the restaurant, located at 133 Bank Street, is available online. Phone: 802-865-5200.

I recently reported that the Vermont Department of Health linked the E. coli infections suffered by seven people with food served at Worthy Burger in South Royalton, VT. In a story following up on that situation, reports that the craft beer and burger bar, which briefly closed for sanitizing work, has changed its supplier of local grass-fed ground beef, and has opted to take rare, medium-rare and medium-cooked burgers temporarily off the menu.
