Vermont chef putting roadkill on his menu. Really.

Doug Paine
Locally sourced food is one thing, but some may consider this ridiculous. The restaurant  Juniper at the Hotel Vermont is offering a "Wild About Vermont" menu  that will feature fish from a local lake, plus goose, moose, bear, and muskrat taken by local hunters. OK, but ... it also will offer locally sourced roadkill!

The promise is "to include no less than three animals that have been killed on roads and highways in the area." The dinner, prepared by chef Doug Paine, is $75 per person.

The Hotel Vermont is located at 41 Cherry Street in Burlington. Phone: 855-650-0080.
