Yet another sandwich shop chain coming to area

For those of you who are in what I suspect is a very tiny minority of people who think we need more sandwich shops in the Capital Region, rejoice. A New Jersey company is adding two venues here to its chain.

Jersey Mike's Subs, an outgrowth of the original Jersey Shore shop that has become a 1,500-venue chain since 1956, is developing stores in Glenmont and Clifton Park, and has begun advertising for workers. The Glenmont location is in the Glenmont Plaza, next to a Moe's Southwest Grill. You can get a look at the sandwich menu online.

Curiously, the company website includes no mention of these projects, either on its new or upcoming openings lists. The only New York State venues listed are two in New York City and one in Mt. Kisco.

This area already is home to numerous Subway, Mr. Subb and Panera Bread locations, as well as Firehouse Subs, Jimmy John's, DiBella's Old Fashioned Submarines, Maurice's, Bountiful Bread, and Pepper Jack's, and a wide variety of independent sandwich shops.
