Swifty's closures are only temporary

If you tried to drop in at the Swifty's Restaurant & Pub locations in Albany and Delmar today and found the doors locked, don't despair. It's just a matter of a renovation project at the Delmar venue with not much public notice.

The Everett Road, Albany, Swifty's pub is scheduled to reopen at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. The spruced-up Four Corners spot in Delmar  is scheduled to reopen at 4 p.m. Wednesday, complete with a new bar, new tin ceiling, and other updates.

So, why close both venues when only one is being remodeled? The company's Facebook page lists the closure period as a combination employee appreciation/bar remodeling one.

Swifty's most recently made the news by hiring the well-respected Anand "A.J." Jayapal as its executive chef, overseeing the kitchens at both locations.
