Touring and tasting Schoharie County -- under one roof

Lasell Hall/D.A.R. Hall
SCHOHARIE -- The 2nd annual "Savor Schoharie" fundraiser has an interesting twist.

The event, subtitled "Celebrate the History of our Communities," will be hosted in a historic building by local historians greeting and speaking with attendees as they move from room to room. Each room will represent a different part of Schoharie County and will offer different hor d’ouevres, drinks and desserts.

The event is a fundraiser for SALT (Schoharie Area Long Term), an organization that helps the area continue to rebuild after the devastating flooding of August 2011.

"Savor Schoharie" is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. this Saturday. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple. The venue is Lasell Hall -- also known as D.A.R. Hall, a historic house built circa 1795, located at 350 Main Street, Schoharie.
