Counting beer calories = potential for confusion, cost

So, now we have smalltime craft brewers and big boys alike having to figure out the calorie count of their beverages. Why? Because government, in this case the federal Food & Drug Administration (FDA), simply is incapable of staying out of people's lives and actually doing something else important.

I suspect there is not a self-respecting beermaker alive today who got into the business with the intention of turning out products that calorie-counting drinkers might demand, excepting perhaps the makers of watery "lite" beers who are into money rather than extending the art of brewing.
