Saratoga Casino & Raceway gets upscale chain steakhouse

UPDATE (12/14/15): The upscale Morton’s The Steakhouse is coming to the Saratoga Casino and Raceway. That was confirmed at a news conference at the construction site of the facility's new 108-room hotel.

The 6,500-square-foot restaurant, scheduled for a summer 2016 debut, will be located near the existing Garden Buffet. Last week, casino officials said they would announce the name of two major restaurants coming to the complex, but only one was revealed today.

Morton's has locations in 25 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and nine foreign venues. You can see the menu online. The Morton's closest to the Capital Region is in White Plains, Westchester County.

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Let the speculation begin!

Saratoga Casino and Raceway says it has landed two "major, nationally acclaimed restaurant operators" to set up shop in its new $40 million hotel. However, it won't publicly reveal their names until an 11 a.m. Monday news conference.

That event will be held inside the construction site of the casino’s hotel expansion. The harness-racing track's hotel is targeted for a summer debut.

Currently, the facility has three dining options -- Fortunes, which overlooks the track; Lucky Joe's, a quick-bite spot just off the gaming floor, and the Garden Buffet, which is located on the gaming floor. Executive Chef Shawn Nash oversees the food service.
