New Queensbury restaurant serving tongue in cheek

QUEENSBURY -- The developers of the town's newest restaurant certainly have to be credited for a sense of humor. Their announcement of the chef for The Aviator Restaurant boasts "Our chef cooks like a girl."

The girl, Denver Grover, is a 1998 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America who has a strong resume: The Sagamore Resort, Sargo’s at Saratoga National Golf Course, Saratoga Polo Catering and Events, and she most recently led the culinary team at Jimbo's Club at The Point.

As is de riguer at most new restaurants these days, her fine dining menu will make use of seasonal local ingredients, although the announcement notes that she "makes everything from scratch. She melds traditional Adirondack flavors with native foods from around the world to create an exciting culinary experience."

The Aviator Restaurant is scheduleds to open some time in February, with an exact date to be decided. It is located at Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport, 443 Queensbury Road. Phone: 795-6000.
