Price Chopper/Market 32 issues recall of ice cream

Price Chopper/Market 32 Supermarkets today issued a voluntary recall on one of its its house brand ice cream products.

The 48-ounce Central Market Classics Caramel Caribou Ice Cream (UPC # 41735 07230) is being recalled because of the  possible presence of metal shavings.

The chain said most of its customers who have its AdvantEdge loyalty card and purchased the item have been contacted through Price Chopper’s SoundBite notification program. It uses purchase data and consumer phone numbers on file to alert those households that may have purchased the product in question.

Anyone who purchased the affected ice cream should return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
