Today's ride on the Capital Region Foodie-Go-Round

DEVELOPING

• In Japanese, "ichiban" means No. 1. In the case of local dining spots, it more properly means three. The restaurants by that name in Albany (338 Central Avenue) and Guilderland (1652 Western Avenue) will be joined by a third location for the owners, in the former Arlington House building in West Sand Lake. The difference is that it will be called The Sushi House: Asian Cuisine & Sushi Bar. The 3532 Route 43 venue has been vacant since the Arlington House ended a lengthy run a little over a year ago.

RELAUNCHING

• The Schenectady restaurant Marotta’s Bar-Risto closed after service on Sunday for what owner Chris Marotta says is a renovation/relaunching project expected to last four to six weeks. Although Marotta has made no mention of the move on either the business's Facebook page or website, he apparently "passed a message along to me through a staff member," writes Times Union blogger Steve Barnes. The four-year-old restaurant is located at 611 Union Street. Phone: 377-5150.

INTRODUCING
