World’s first airport tasting room set for Oregon

Part of the House Spirits portfolio
Here's some food for thought for craft distillers in the greater Capital Region: an airport tasting room.

The House Spirits Distillery and the Port of Portland, Oregon, have announced plans for the distillery to create a year-round tasting room at Portland International Airport (PDX), with plans for an October debut.

The two entities say this would make House Spirits the first distillery in the world to operate its own in-line brick-and-mortar spirits tasting room at an airport location.

House Spirits, founded in 2004, has been operating a branded kiosk at the airport for two years. It was awarded an Airport Revenue News (ARN) Award for "Best New Specialty Retail Concept" last year. The new tasting room, which will cover 1,250 square feet, will offer the distillery's entire spirits portfolio -- including its Aviation Gin -- for sampling and purchase. House Spirits also plans to release a handful of distillery and tasting room exclusives.
