B. Good 'healthy food' chain opens first Vermont location

Vermont does not have many fast-food chain restaurants, but as of the beginning of 2017 it has at least one more.

B. Good opened its first Vermont venue over the New Year's weekend in Burlington. Its twist: it calls its fare "healthy food," compared to the "unhealthy food" label most chains labor under.

The new location is at 92 Church Street, formerly home to the burrito joint Boloco. Although B. Good is a chain offering a variety of organic and other such ingredients, its offerings vary somewhat from location to location.

"We change seasonally depending on what's available from local farms. So one thing that is different about B.Good is we celebrate the fact that our food will taste different depending on where you go because we'll use different creameries, we'll use different beef, we'll use different bakeries and stuff like that," co-owner Bill Zolper told MyChamplainValley.com.

B. Good now has 44 U.S. locations -- 31 in New England, 11 in New York State, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, and one each in Canada and Switzerland.
