The owners of Muza had been advertising online for experienced chefs. In Cusack, they have found one. He developed an enthusiastic following on the other side of the city as executive chef first at Jose Malone's and then at Daisy Baker's, both now closed. Cusack, who studied at the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, VT, also cooked at McGuire's in Albany.
The Hill at Muza, a year-round beer garden and kitchen, and its parent restaurant Muza are located at Congress and 15th Street just off the RPI campus. They specialize in Eastern European cuisines and beers, although their food and drink menus stretch well beyond those boundaries.
The restaurant hours: Tuesday-Thursday 4 to 9 p.m., Friday-Saturday 4 to 10 p.m., closed Sunday-Monday. Phone: 271-6892. The beer garden hours: Tuesday-Saturday 4 to 11 p.m. Phone: 662-4455.
