So, you want to be a restaurateur

Gene's Fish Fry
As usually is the case, a wide variety of restaurant properties is for sale in the Greater Capital Region. Here is a sampling of current listings:

300 Troy Road, Rensselaer -- The seasonal home of Gene's Fish Fry, a 3,120-square-foot spot priced at $599,000, located opposite the Shoppes at Greenbush Commons. 

68 Manning Boulevard North, Albany -- The former Orchard Tavern operated in this 5,000-square-foot, two-story building that includes apartments. The asking price is $599,000.  

2 Lincoln Avenue, Watervliet -- The site of Dapp's Tavern, near Siena College, is a 3,252-square-foot spot with an asking price of $299,500.

Blue Jay Tavern
2723 Broadway, Schenectady -- The Blue Jay Tavern has operated for more than 40 years in this 10,200-square-foot building that includes two apaertments and 3,000 feet of banquet hall space, all priced at $369,000.

138 Washington Avenue, Albany -- This was home to the recently-closed The Grille at 138. It's a deceptively spacious 9,460-square-foot structure opposite the Albany Institute of History & Art, priced at $589,000.

286-288 Lark Street, Albany -- The former home of DeJohn's restaurant, which is two connected buildings, has been on the market quite a while. It totals 6,511 square feet, and is listed at $295,000.

1621 Upper Union Street, Schenectady -- Currently a Dunkin' Donuts shop, this 2,020-square-foot spot is up for lease.
