Teagan's closing, owner shifting to fulltime catering

The daily grind of running a restaurant can get to the best of people. Count Al Pollock among them. He is planning on shuttering his Teagan’s Steak & Seafood operation in Rensselaer after service on February 15.

According to a posting today on timesunion.com, "Pollock, who does about 50% of his business in catering and other private events, will be relocating to the Pearl Street Pub in downtown Albany, according to Pollock and PSP co-owner Chris Pratt. Starting March 1, Pollock will be offering off-site catering, based out of the Pearl Street Pub kitchen, as well as for banquets and other private events in the PSP spaces under the name Pearl Street Pub Catering." The story cited Pollock's desire to get away from the daily restaurant business to concentrate on catering.

Teagan's, originally located on Columbia Turnpike in East Greenbush, has operated on the Rensselaer waterfront at 1 Ferry Street for the past six years.
