Arby's chain suffers major credit data breach

If you used a credit card in recent months to pay for a purchase at an Arby's, be on the alert. Hackers have stolen customer credit card information from an unknown number of Arby’s restaurants, according to a report published Thursday.

The fast food chain confirmed it discovered several weeks ago that it suffered a data breach that affected a number of its corporate-run restaurants.

While the data breach affected some of Arby’s roughly 1,000 corporate restaurants, it affected none of its franchise restaurants operated by third parties, the company says. So, if you want to find out which group you fall into, check with the place you made the purchase to see if it's a corporate operation or a franchise.
