Argyle Cheese Farmer moving to Glens Falls

Argyle Cheese Farmer is on the move. Marge and Dave Randles are relocating much of their artisan cheese and yogurt production to Pruyn’s Island in Glens Falls from their location at Randles Fairview Farm in Washington County.

The milk used in the operation still will be from the herd raised on the family’s farm at 990 Coach Road that Will Randles, Dave's brother.

The Glens Falls Downtown Revitalization Initiative committee has designated $125,000 for the relocation effort, part of the proposed plan to spend a $10 million state Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant.

The committee is working on plans to establish Glens Falls as a center for food production. That includes developing a year-round facility for the Glens Falls Farmers Market, where Argyle Cheese Farmer is a vendor. The overall plan will be presented at a public forum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, February 23, in Heritage Hall at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
