SCCC 'Chefs for Success' to honor local culinary achievers

Small plates, cocktails and lots of pats on the back are on the menu for "Chefs for Success," a social event at Schenectady County Community College on Tuesday.

The 9th annual event, set for the Van Curler Room, will honor a group of graduates of the college's School of Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism. It will begin with a 6 p.m. cocktail hour, followed by a gala reception with live stations  serving foods paired with wines and craft beers.

Guest chefs to be honored:
  • Jared Bafaro, The Tailored Tea, Latham 
  • Melissa Doney, Brown's Brewing Company, Troy 
  • Giovanni Morina, Gio Culinary Studio, Voorheesville 
  • Shawn Nash, Saratoga Casino Hotel, Saratoga Springs 
  • Jeffrey Rayno, Fish at 30 Lake, Saratoga Springs 
  • Anna Weisheit, The Hollow Bar + Kitchen, Albany
Tickets, priced at $75, are available online. The college is located at 78 Washington Avenue, Schenectady.
