4 icons of American food to be featured on PBS presentation
I'm speaking of four iconic foodies whose stories will be told on public TV's "American Masters" series in a four-piece, two-night arc called "Chefs Flight."
A look at James Beard (1903-1985), often referred to as "America's first foodie," will be paired up with a rerun of a Julia Child (1912-2004) documentary from 9 to 10 and 10 to 11 p.m. Friday, May 19. Then, a new documentary on Jacques Pépin (b. 1935) will be paired with a rerun of a similar look at and Alice Waters (b. 1944) from 9 to 10 and 10 to 11 p.m. Friday, May 26.
