Tenants' departure may result in new restaurant in Hudson

The location in  question (Google map)
Anyone in Hudson used to picking up a Subway sandwich and a Carvel dessert at 21 Green Street will have to change their shopping habit. Neither company has renewed its current lease.

The building's owners, Anita and Brad Forde of San Luis Obispo, CA, told The Register-Star the two eateries and a laundromat currently in the space will be moving out. "I don’t think they are going out of business, they are just moving,” Anita Forde said.

She also said the building has drawn interest from restaurants and businesses, noting, “In the back area [where Subway is] we have a restaurant that is interested. We would love to create an outdoor seating area and do some really fun things. It’s got so much potential and we think it could really be something.”

The venue is located near the busy Warren Street restaurant and antiques district. The Fordes also are considering developing loft-style apartments on the third floor of their building. They are the owners of Forde Properties and Construction.
