Jermaine Wright, who last year competed on the Food Network series “All-Star Academy,” has been named the 2017 Remy Martin Circle of Centaurs winner for this year.
The competition pairs celebrity chefs with lesser-known chefs who receive mentoring sessions and a cash prize. Wright was teamed with Marc Forgione, who appears on the Food Network's "Iron Chef America," owns the restaurant Marc Forgione in New York City, and is the author of several cookbooks.
Wright prepared jerked stew pork over an Indian methi roti with sweet plantains, and red cabbage slaw. The recipe is available on his website.
The Circle of Centaurs competition, according to the sponsor, "invites personalities to serve as mentors, to share their talents and ideas for a life full of inspiring experiences, and encourages you to follow their example."
