Headline: Both Merry Monks get same sad message: You're closed

If The Merry Monk had an emoji, it wouldn't be a jovial one.

Both the Albany and Schenectady locations of the restaurant have been seized and closed by the state for tax arrears.

According to the New York State database listing delinquent tax cases, each of the locations has a dozen or so warrants, totaling about $242,000 for the Henry Street venue in Saratoga and about $217,000 for the North Pearl Street venue in Albany.
