Owner of fire-ravaged Shakin' Bacon to reopen, somewhere

Back in October 2015, I reported that chef Joseph Ventrice, who had worked for the local Mallozzi Family restaurant services chain, was about to go out on his own with a breakfast-and-lunch spot called Shakin' Bacon, the successor to the former Tortillas at 138 Broadway in Rensselaer.

Now, it can be said once again that Ventrice is planning to open a breakfast-and-lunch spot called Shakin' Bacon. Only the location is in question.

The situation is that his venue was heavily damaged by a fire last week, and it is to be determined whether the structure can be sufficiently repaired.

Nevertheless, Ventrice is telling people he will reopen Shaki9n' Bacon even if it has to be at a new location.
