Doc Bones BBQ again named grand champion in Troy Pig Out

Doc Bones BBQ of Orange County successfully defended its Grand Champion title in the 10th annual Troy Pig Out competition that drew more than 20,000 to the city's Riverfront Park on Saturday.

En route to another title, Doc Bones also took top honors in the chicken, ribs, and brisket categories, and second place in pulled pork. Yanni’s Too Restaurant won the pulled pork category with seconds in ribs and brisket.

Smoke Lodge won both the Mayor's Choice and People's Choice awards.

The competition is the officially sanctioned New York State Barbecue Championship by decree of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the Kansas City Barbecue Association that governs such competitions nationwide.
