No local affect for Price Chopper/Dunkin' Donuts deal

If you hear or read reports that the Dunkin' Donuts and Price Chopper chains are teaming up, don't get excited. It's not "that" Price Chopper.

DD and the 50-store Price Chopper grocery chain that is headquartered in Kansas City, MO, have just announced plans to jointly open three restaurants in Price Chopper markets in Kansas. Price Chopper will own and operate all three locations, with two additional restaurants opening in two more of their stores later in the year.

Currently, Dunkin’ Donuts has more than 200 restaurants in supermarkets, big-box retail stores, wholesale clubs and home improvement centers located across the country.

The 134-store Price Chopper entity we in the Northeast are used to is the store name that the parent Golub Corporation of Schenectady is in the process of converting to the Market 32 brand. It has no connection with its Midwest soundalike.
