Openings & Closings & Etc.

• The latest reports on restaurants and food vendor openings, closings and transitions from the Greater Capital Region, as well as occasional entries from the Catskills, Central New York, Southern Vermont and the Berkshires.

• The area has yet another Dunkin' Donuts venue, this one in Wilton, Saratoga County. A ceremony to remember the late franchisee Jerry Burke, who was killed recently in a car accident, was part of  Wednesday's opening of The Burke Companies’ newest DD location.

• Circus Circus, the Saratoga Springs restaurant that has been in operation on Broadway for 14 years, will close for good at midnight tonight. Owners Christel and Colin MacLean, who also once owned Sperry's and The Crown Grill, now are out of the full-service restaurant business, devoting their time to their wholesale juice business and their Saratoga Juice Bar. In a statement announcing the decision, they said they decided to close even though they are in conversation with several potential buyers.
