Food pantries event to feature chefs' competition

The 7th annual Harvest Evening Celebration of the Food Pantries for the Capital  District will be held this Thursday at Brown’s Brewing Company’s Revolution Hall in Troy.

The event, set for 6 to 8 p.m., will include a VIP networking reception, silent auction, live music, raffles, hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and a cash bar. A centerpiece of the event will be the Food Pantry Chef’s Challenge, with local chefs creating tastings that use items commonly stocked by local food pantries.

  • Athos Restaurant,
  • Brown’s Brewing Taproom
  • Field Notes
  • The Point
  • Tipsy Moose Tap & Tavern
  • Whole Foods
  • A culinary team from one of the Food Pantries coalition members

Siena College will be recognized as the 2017 Outstanding Community Partner for contributions to the "Filling the Gap " food pantry system and community needs assessment,  and its Capital District Food Summit partnership.

Tickets, priced at $65 or $120 per couple, are available online.

Revolution Hall is located in the first block of River Street north of the Green Island Bridge, adjacent to Brown's Brewing.
