Altamont Strawberry Festival to benefit food bank

ALTAMONT -- Strawberry fans, mark next Saturday on your calendars. That's when the 2nd annual Strawberry Festival to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and the Patroon Land Farm will be held.

Admission to the Altamont Fairgrounds that day for the 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. event is just $8 for anyone over age 12 (youngsters get in free). Advance tickets are available at the Regional Food Bank, 965 Albany-Shaker Road, Latham.

Two different groups will provide live music: 12:30 to 2 p.m., the Zucchini Brothers, and 5 to 8 p.m., The Refrigerators. Here's what else to expect at the family-centric event:

The Altamont Fairgrounds is located at 129 Grand Street, just off Route 146, in this Albany County village.
