STOWE, VT -- All you foodies who like to hit the local eateries when you head for the ski slopes, here's a development you may want to keep in mind.

The well-regarded restaurant Plate closed on October 27, but that was only to allow founding owners Jamie Persky and Mark Rosman to hand over the keys to the new owners, Aaron and Jennifer Martin.

Aaron was the opening chef of Plate in 2013 who left after two years. Thus, he'll be back in a familiar kitchen, while wife Jennifer, a veteran bartender and staffer at a variety of local restaurants, will run the front of the house.

Aaron's upscale resume includes stops at nearby Hen of the Wood and at the iconic Alice Waters' renowned Chez Panisse in Berkeley, CA. Since leaving Plate, he has cooked at Black Diamond Barbeque in Morrisville.

What can you expect now that he's the owner of the kitchen rather than  an employee? Aaron told the local newsmag Seven Days, "We found an old stack of menus that goes right back to our first opening night. I think it would be really fitting if we bring back some of the old stuff while pairing it with some new stuff."

Plate will reopen November 24, the weekend after Thanksgiving, and will be serving dinner Wednesday through Saturday and brunch on Sunday. It is located at 91 Main Street. Phone: 802-253-2691.
