Dan Raymond
EAST GREENBUSH -- If you tune in to the fifth season premiere of the Food Network's "Holiday Baking Championship" tonight, some of you may see a familiar face.

Dan Raymond  of Castleton, owner of Zachary's Pastry Shoppe in East Greenbush, is among nine bakers from around the country competing for a $25,000 prize in a series of holiday-themed challenges involving cookies, pies, and other desserts. Original episodes of the series will be shown each Monday at 9 p.m.

Of course, Food Network's competition series are taped well in advance, but participants are contractually prohibited from revealing any of the results until episodes are shown.

Raymond earned an AOS degree in baking and pastry arts in 1985 from SUNY Schenectady where he now is an adjunct professor. He has operated Zachary's Pastry Shoppe with his family at 390 Columbia Turnpike for 14-plus years, and has a satellite shop at 54 State Street in downtown Albany.
