ALBANY -- A onetime upscale dining space opposite the Times Union Center is being brought back to life after lying fallow since 2016.

A project called SideBar -- a nod to the numerous law offices in the neighborhood -- is being developed on the ground floor of the office tower at 30 South Pearl Street by Mike Lynch, a former local restaurant figure returning to the area after being involved in culinary ventures in Florida and Europe.

The space originally was home to Stars, then to Dale Miller -- named for its founding chef, then Taste, then Aji Steak Stone & Sushi. The new incarnation is targeted for an August debut.

The Times Union has a highly detailed story on the project, available here.
